If you are a visitor to Eastbourne you are welcome to call at the associations head office situated near the pier and just off the seafront.
For over 80 years the Eastbourne Hospitality Association has represented the Tourism Industry in the Town. In 1925 a small group of Hoteliers formed the Eastbourne Residential Hotels Association to meet and discuss the issues of the day. This small group soon multiplied as Tourism in Eastbourne expanded and eventually became known as the Eastbourne Hotels Association. Until 1976 the Chamber of Commerce handled our administration but as the Association membership increased a new separate Office was needed and so in that year we moved to our own office in Chiswick Place.
As Eastbourne prospered the Association continued to play a large part in policy making for Tourism within the Town. Members input also grew with all sizes of establishments experiencing enormous changes. By 1988 the Association was in such a strong position it purchased its current home "Kestrel House". The industry continued to change and in 2006 the Association became known as the Eastbourne Hospitality Association thus encompassing all elements of the Tourism industry. The Executive Committee is made up of volunteer representatives from all aspects of Tourism. This group meets regularly to discuss any issue affecting any size establishment and offers support and advice whenever needed. With a close working relationship with both Councillors and Council Officers, Eastbourne and District Chamber of Commerce and a direct voice in Parliament, via our Patron, the EHA is an essential part of any business plan for all those involved with Tourism in Eastbourne.
Our vision for the future is to encourage membership from all sectors in Eastbourne to put forward their views for the Development of Eastbourne's Tourism and Trade. We need representation from Hotels, Restaurants, Self Catering, Trade and Attractions. Working together, improving and maintaining strong bonds with Eastbourne Borough Council and the Chamber of Commerce to become a united force for the good of Eastbourne!
